Our StoryOur Story
In the summer of 1999 God led us, Randy and Susan Johnson, to Pennsylvania with the vision of growing the Kingdom of God in the Royersford/Limerick area of the Route 422 Corridor. We began to pray, watch, and see where God was working and shortly, doors began to open. Our first Home Bible Study began in September 1999 with the hope of growing a church from the living room of our condo. We then mailed out 7500 introductory mailers and held our first Preview Service in February 2000 and held one service each month through April. We held our first daytime service on Easter Sunday morning in April of 2000. We began meeting weekly throughout the summer in the foyer of Royersford Elementary School to grow our core group. In September, 2000, God blessed us with 182 people being present.
The number of seekers and believers meeting each Sunday morning in the gymnasium of Royersford Elementary School continued to grow and due to classroom changes, potential growth, and the goal to be on the north side of the 422 corridor, we moved to the Limerick Elementary School on April 7, 2002. Once again, due to our growth and classroom changes we found it necessary to move in March of 2008 to the Evans Elementary School on Sunset Drive in Limerick. There is much excitement in the lives of the 600 people (average) attending our services and we believe this is only the beginning of an incredible movement of God. We believe that He has amazing things in store for all of us; however, it is our desire to not only serve the NorthPointe Community Church family but also the surrounding communities by sharing with what God has blessed us. We have purchased a parcel of land on Game Farm Road and are working on raising the funds necessary to build. Once our building is completed, we plan to make our facilities available for use by the public for sports activities, seminars, and other community events. Our ultimate prayer is that Jesus Christ be lifted up, that He will draw all men to Himself, and that transformation will sweep across the community and throughout the region. We watch with anticipation as to what will happen next!
